Its the most cooked,most simple and the most loved fish curry in our family.
Ingredients
Fish(mackerel,sardine or any fish cleaned and cut to pieces of convenient size)
tamarind pulp -3tbsp
water -3/4-1 cup
Seasoning
coconut oil -1tsp
curry leaves - 1or 2 pods
Method
In a pan, add all the ingredients except the fish and cook it covered by a lid.Cook till tomato becomes pulpy.Now add the fish pieces and cook.Remove from stove and add the oil and curry leaves as such.
Traditionally it is prepared in a clay pot.
I usually mash the entire mixture with my hands before keeping it over flame.
Tangy mangoes can be used instead of tamarind.
If the fish wont get mashed when cooked for longer time, it can be added at the very beginning itself.

chilly powder - 1 1/2 tsp
salt as needed
Green chilly -2-3 sliced
ginger -1 inch piece chopped
tomato -2 medium ones chopped/cubed tamarind pulp -3tbsp
